BBQ pizza

Every now and again someone somewhere creates something genius.  Thanks to Gizmodo for sharing this

And now I need that.  Pizza in the house during the winter is a no brainer, but during the summer I'm loathe to turn on that damn oven if I don't need to and realistically you could use this for bread as well.  It might be harder to control the humidity portion (several bread recipes call for a pan of water to be placed in the oven as well.)

What do you think?  I feel like a reasonable approximation of this could be mad with a piece of steel and a welder.

If the price is affordable, I would buy it.

    1. I have heard of them, even considered owning one for the dinner party fun that would ensue. I think of raclettes more as a shared grill with warming compartments, but that may just be a perception thing.

    1. depends on the thickness of dough, and toppings but on the site that sells them he has demo video of it in use. I think the info that he posts really has everything you would need to know.

I am not sure. It would have a smokey flavor, like a brick oven pizza, and I have never been a fan.

    1. That is sort of the point, but I can see why people wouldn't want that. Locally there are some wood fired pizza places and they all seem to favor applewood. I think the flavor is really nice and subtle.
