Why Google?

So the big G is going to murder my favorite product on the internet bar none, Google Reader.  What's next, you going to kill the blogger platform next?  I can barely imagine all the people that I've told to start using this product over the year.  How many times I've tried to convince people that RSS is the best thing on about the internet that they don't even use and here we are.  So Feedly, charge for it please.  I want this platform to be around for a while.  I'm happy to pay for this service, because I use it every day.  Seriously.

So in closing, I'm sad and come July probably going to have a lot more free time on my hands.

  1. Google's doing a lot of things that are frustrating lately. This one is probably my biggest gripe (RSS is so convenient and easy, plain and simple), but they've done some other things, too. Not sure if you heard, but lately they removed Adblock Plus and a bunch of other ad blockers from their app store so they can drive up ad revenue. And now they want to kill off Google Reader and get rid of the Google Chrome RSS add-on extension because, as I've read, it's "unprofitable."

Sad that Google's finally become that giant, soulless corporation that doesn't care about its customers, when it seemed that once upon a time ago they were the exact opposite of that.

  2. This has me so fucking bummed.

This is where I do all my blog reading. All of it. I don't want to get an email subscription to my bloggy peeps. I don't want have umpteen bookmarked web pages. For me, this experience is all about my group of friends and I'm not looking to make shit even more complicated and time consuming to keep in touch. Ass holes.
